A visual enquiry into the notion of home.

Australia has historically been formed as a nation of migrants and considering its geographical remoteness, many Australians can essentially be seen as travelers. This highlights the relevance of home to Australians; a theme that is particularly resonant with a population for whom home could mean more than just their current global location.

My project aims to reconnects individuals with their past and current values, sentiments, and memories associated with home. The thoughts, ideas, and personal recollections that have been gathered reveal how 57 Australians from different cultural and social backgrounds construct and define their perception of the theme. The illustrations are my personal visualisations of these responses and provide an additional layer of meaning that aims to encourage individual readings and personal interpretations of the theme.
