When I'm not painting or hanging out with the Adobe suite, you'll find me trawling through soundcloud or cutting some shapes on the dancefloor.
I believe in the pairing of strong ideas and strategic thinking with beautifully crafted execution to produce solutions that are engaging, meaningful and memorable.
A holistic design approach is adopted to communicate concepts clearly and effectively through highly-tailored design solutions. I seek to breathe meaning, spirit and vitality into every project and create unique visual outcomes that provoke meaningful responses and facilitate emotional connection between people and brands.
I am a firm believer that branding is not just about making logos but rather the well-considered story-telling of brands through engaging and memorable experiences across all consumer touchpoints– from print to online, events and environments.
I adopt a research-led approach to distill core values and define a brand proposition that will inform the development of a strong identity, unique brand personality and confident brand direction.
Strategic thinking, attention to detail and a rigorous filing system are at the heart of my design practice.
My mantra: Think first, then do.

"My painting style is heavily based on intuition and feeling. I never have a pre-planned aim or destination. I rely on my gut instinct and what visually feels right to lead me to the final composition. I'll find myself saying, 'It wants me to go here', 'I need to push it up here' or 'It needs to be heavier over there'. My painting approach feels like I'm coaxing or wrestling the figure from the surface. I really like the fact that I don't know what my images will end up as, that there is always something new to discover at the end of the process."
Kevin Tran was born on 28 June 1986 to Vietnamese migrant parents and raised in the outer western suburbs of Sydney. At a young age, Kevin displayed an early interest in art, drawing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers and characters from the depths of his imagination.
After graduating BA of Visual Communication at University of Technology, Sydney in 2008, Kevin held his first solo show 'Between Two Worlds' at Regard Gallery, Sydney in February 2009, followed by group shows in Melbourne, Hong Kong and California, USA. In March 2010, Kevin was granted an artist residency at Newington Armory Studios where he created his second body of work, 'Strobe' which was exhibited at China Heights Gallery, Surry Hills later that year.
In early 2013, Kevin moved to London where he started painting his third body of work, drawing on his experiences living abroad in the United Kingdom. This new body of work, 'South Of The River', was exhibited at the start of 2014 at Under New Management in Sydney.
